Cherry Tree School collected 205.3 Kg of donations for Watford Food Bank at their Harvest Festival
Cherry Tree School held their Harvest Festival yesterday, and donated essential items to Watford Food Bank
Cherry Tree School invited parents and carers to attend their Harvest Festival Assembly. Children donated an impressive 205.3 Kg of essential food items to the Watford Food Bank, who can then use this food to provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Cherry Tree School recently opened their edible playground, a Trees For Cities initiative, which gives children first hand experience of growing and harvesting crops. Some of the highlights have been the huge carrots which the edible playground has produced, and the chance to prepare banana crops for next season!
